Half day: Walk in the Footsteps
This popular field trip, near Waitara, is a unique opportunity to visit significant North Taranaki battle sites with Educator Hoani Eriwata.
Note: this trip is weather dependant.
Learning and research at Puke Ariki
Puke Ariki can support NCEA History students’ research and learning about the Taranaki Wars. The museum contains displays which students can explore with an educator or using our self-guided resource available via email for you to print out for your students before your visit. The long term exhibition Ko Taku Poi te Manu tells a story of the importance of poi in Taranaki with a focus on Parihaka.
Additionally Te Puna Wānanga o Taranaki - The Taranaki Research Centre holds many examples of primary and secondary resources that are suitable for senior high school students to research the Taranaki Wars.
