Our reading room is open Monday to Sunday 10am - 5pm. Please book an appointment if you would like to view archives and images that are not available on our open shelving. We require at least 24 hours notice prior to your visit.

Visiting our reading room

We welcome visitors to our reading room but there are some rules we need to follow to make sure our collection items remain in good condition for generations to come.

  • No food and drink can be brought into the Taranaki Research Centre (lockers are available in Puke Ariki Museum).
  • You must use a pencil for all note taking.
  • Digital photography is allowed, but no flash photography.

Select the date of your visit. We are open every day except for public holidays. Please provide at least 24 hours notice.
