Introducing the Rekindled team
The funding from the Lotteries Environment and Heritage Fund Te Tahua Taiao Ngā Taonga has enabled these three new staff to join Rosie and Natasha on the exciting journey of making the Feaver Collection available to the public. Here’s what they have to say:
Farrar Cassidy: I am the Cataloguing Assistant for the project. With a background in cultural anthropology, I am particularly interested in the people, stories, and history of Aotearoa New Zealand. I am really excited about making this historic collection accessible for our communities now, and for future research.
Sam McComb: Taranaki-born and bred, I come to the role of Digitisation Assistant with an Honours degree in Anthropology and Archaeology and a passion for photography. I’ve been ‘playing seriously with cameras’ for over 10 years. After trying film five years ago, I put together my own systems to develop and digitize film at home. Being able to combine this interest in history, photography, and to contribute meaningfully to improving collection access is a dream come true.
Shayla Welson: My role in the Feaver Project is Digitisation Assistant. With a strong interest in history and genealogy, and a love for working in a museum environment, joining a team that allows me to explore all of these areas while simultaneously giving back to the community is such an exciting opportunity.
