Writer In Residence Holding 822X620

In celebration of the first New Zealand Children’s Book Week, Puke Ariki and Community Libraries are inviting applications for a Writer in Residence Programme celebrating storytelling, creativity and the joy of reading for pleasure among tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau.

This short, library-based residency offers a local children’s writer or illustrator dedicated creative time, alongside opportunities to connect with young readers through accessible, welcoming public programmes. The focus is on imagination, literacy and connection, rather than production or outcomes.
