Join us for an immersive full‑day Puanga learning journey across our three whare. Avaliable for up to 90 students, come along and explore what Puanga means in Taranaki. Our full-day programme offers a rich focus on matauranga Māori, astronomy, storytelling, creativity, and sustainable living.

Opening Wānanga
We will gather as a learning community. Students will be introduced to Puanga, te whetū o te Tau, setting the shared kaupapa for the day.
Museum - Puanga Kai Rau | Sustainable Living
Learners will discover how Puanga informs sustainable practices, seasonal knowledge, and ways of living in balance with the environment.
Library - Connecting with Matariki and Puanga
Learners will explore the stories, knowledge, and significance of Puanga and Matariki, and will be invited to reflecti upon their year ahead through writing and decorating a star.
Art Gallery - Our Precious Awa
Learners will deepen connections to local whenua, wai, and kaitiakitanga responding to Puanga through art and visual storytelling.
Whakakapinga
As the learning journey comes to a close, all rōpū will reunite in the museum foyer for a final gathering. Together we sing, reflect, and share our learnings from the day.
