Learning and research at Puke Ariki

Puke Ariki can support NCEA History students’ research and learning about the Taranaki Wars.  The museum contains displays which students can explore with an educator or using our self-guided resource available via email for you to print out for your students before your visit.  The long term exhibition Ko Taku Poi Te Manu tells a story of the importance of poi in Taranaki with a focus on Parihaka.

Additionally Te Pua Wānanga o Taranaki - The Taranaki Research Centre holds many examples of primary and secondary resources that are suitable for senior high school students to research the Taranaki Wars.

Please contact us to discuss any of the options above. We can tailor a visit for your Year 11-13 History classes.
