Home Work Taranaki Art 2020Call for Artists
Submissions are open now and close on 3 February 2020.
Puke Ariki invites Taranaki resident artists to submit one recent artwork for its exhibition Home Work: Taranaki Art 2020. Artworks in any media are encouraged, from ceramics, whakairo, textiles, paintings, photography and more.
Home Work: Taranaki Art 2020, is a celebration of the vibrant art scene the region is known for and brings together artwork created right around te mounga, acknowledging the vital role art continues to play in forming a vibrant community.
The exhibition will feature in Puke Ariki Museum’s temporary gallery from 16 May to 16 August 2020.
The theme for Home Work 2020 is Tuku Iho, raising awareness of traditions that are passed down through generations. Taranaki artists are invited to represent this theme and submit an artwork which will enable us to think about how this era of artists will influence future generations.
Renowned artists Ngāhina Hohaia and Reuben Paterson, alongside Puke Ariki’s Laura Campbell, form the selection panel for Home Work: Taranaki Art 2020.
