Nau mai, haere mai ki te tūramatia ngā kupu o te ngākau 2021
Welcome to Festival of Words 2021.
From Thursday 29 July to Sunday 1 August we’re celebrating literature and bringing you performances and conversations with some of Aotearoa’s biggest names in the literary arts.
Our line-up includes comedian Tom Sainsbury, best-selling authors Witi Ihimaera and Dame Fiona Kidman, money expert Mary Holm and NZ Herald journalist Steve Braunias. In total, we have 27 events across the New Plymouth District.
Our events bring together the very best New Zealand writers of contemporary fiction and non-fiction, poets, artists, economists, journalists and thinkers.
Words shape our world. They entertain, provoke, inspire, educate and unite - as do the writers who shape them into finished works. So we invite you to join us, and them, and let the power of words inspire you this winter.
Make sure you get in quick to book tickets to all the talks, workshops and sessions that are on during the Festival.Events
