The Community Languages Programme is currently exploring the Samoan culture at Puke Ariki. Iconic Samoan items and traditional costumes are on display in the South Wing (level one). These colourful clothing displays will be changed throughout the exhibition bringing warm Samoan colour to our New Plymouth winter

To mark Te Reo Week, come along on Wednesday (28 July) to Stacey Taingahue two free tutorials (11am and 12.30pm) on the Ground Floor, Puke Ariki South Wing.
The Wananga will also be offering free hot soup and a bun for the two Te Reo Maori sessions. Sessions are an hour long each.

Puke Ariki is developing a plan to set out its direction and priorities for the next 10 years. As part of this process we are holding various group discussions with stakeholders in the community.

This Sunday (1 August), Taranaki War 1860 – 2010 closes. From 3pm in Puke Ariki’s North Wing, come hear and share thoughts on the exhibit - from its intentions and what has resulted, to what should remain.
