Our very popular book groups are available at all of our libraries and on Facebook. Our book groups are fully subscribed at the moment, please call (06) 7596060 or use the Contact Us form to join the waiting list.

Crackerjacks story time

Under 5s fun! Join us for a range of stories, rhymes, crafts or songs.

Connect with Tech

This is your chance to discover digital tips and tricks, or to ask for technical help. From eBooks and email accounts to digital resources and library apps. We will do our best to solve technological mysteries and answer questions, no matter what your device. Connect with Tech session are held every week at Puke Ariki library and are available on request at Waitara, Inglewood, Bell Block and Ōākura Libraries.

Housebound services

Can’t get to the library or the Mobile Library due to illness, disability or age? We have fantastic volunteers who can bring our collection to you. More information on this service is available in our Housebound Readers Service brochure or contact us for more information.

Justice of the Peace

A Justice of Peace is available at Puke Ariki Library and at Inglewood and Bell Block Community Libraries to witness signatures and declarations, swear affidavits and affirmations or certify original copies. For days and times click here.

Low vision customers

We provide help to low vision customers with the Blind Foundation BookLink app.

Migrant Women Meet

Every Tuesday from 11am-12.30pm migrant women in the Taranaki region come and connect over a cup of tea. Please join us in the Puke Ariki Community Lounge, which is located on the first floor of the library.

Preschool and school visits

Preschools and schools can visit us for sessions in the Discover It section of the library.

If you would like to suggest an item for us to buy to improve our collection please do so in the contact us page. A collection specialist will then make a decision on whether the library will purchase the item.

Wordsmiths Ink.

A writers group for everyone meets at the Daily News Café from 6.30pm - 8.30pm on the third Wednesday of every month. If you have a passion for writing, come and join us. We share our work, receive feedback and support on our writing journeys.
