NZ Music Month
1 May – 10 June, Main Exhibition Gallery, Puke Ariki
Come and immerse yourself in the Taranaki retro music scene with an exhibition dedicated to all things musical. Personal items belonging to the much-loved and never forgotten Taranaki musician and drummer Alan Muggeridge, member of hit band Everyday People, will be on display, including his diary and the intriguing trumpet marine instrument.
Reproductions of every poster ever produced by the iconic Rowen Studios will also make an appearance.
This exhibition is supported by an extensive and comprehensive events programme, which includes performances, workshops, debates and a couple of good old jam sessions!
Our district libraries are in on the scene with lunchtime music sessions and we are making sure the rock stars of the future don’t miss out with kid’s events that give them every opportunity to make lots of noise!
There is even the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the King Street Studio and learn what it takes to mix chords and lyrics into a hit song.
Get your groove on, come and rock out and we will ensure you won’t be singing the blues!
