Home Work: Taranaki Art 2017

9 June - 19 November 2017

Home Work: Taranaki Art 2017 showcases our region’s exciting art scene and celebrates the talent of local artists. Open to all artists living in Taranaki and working in any media, Home Work places artworks by emerging artists alongside those with years of experience.

Artists play a vital role in forming rich and vibrant communities, and they invite us to see the world from a new perspective. The artworks chosen for Home Work reveal just some of the diverse creative practice happening throughout Taranaki.

Building on the first Home Work show in 2014, this exhibition embraces Puke Ariki’s role in supporting and inspiring creativity in our community. Selection for Home Work was made by a panel of three curators – Puke Ariki’s Curator Pictorial Collection Chanelle Carrick, Assistant Exhibition Curator Aimee Burbery and leading contemporary Māori artist Darcy Nicholas.

The exhibition showcases the work of 65 artists from across the region and includes a wide range of media including painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, jewellery and textiles. Come along and be inspired!
