Te Ahi Kâ Roa, Te Ahi Kâtoro Taranaki War 1860-2010 Our Legacy – Our Challenge

Reception for the Governer-General to mark the opening of the exhibition on 17 March at Puke Ariki.

This event was the culmination of a day of commemoration, a day filled with sadness and anger for the past and a day of hope and reconciliation for the future.

The speeches made at this reception reflected the importance of this exhibition and the importance of the Taranaki wars in the history of both the region and the nation.

They are reproduced here.
